Oral history interview with Twyla Woods, 2007 December 7.

Twyla Woods talks about contracting polio when she was 5 or 6 years old; recuperating in Blank Childrens Hospital in Des Moines for a year; her aunt's role in her rehabilitation after she left the hospital; her struggles with poor self esteem during her school years; and her ultimate success as a school administrator in Des Moines. Woods, an African American, did not feel that race played a factor in the treatment she received.
